Catherine Power m William Sheehan

Hi,

You need to expand on William Sheehan.  Check the 1901 and 1911 Irish Census - www.nationalarchives.ie  and www.irishgenealogy.ie for Marriages and Deaths - 1864 - 1920. Both Sites are free. What information do you have on Thomas Christie? It is not a very common name in the South of Ireland.

I was unable to find a marriage for Mary with Thomas Christie which may mean that their marriage record is not available yet or that their names are not recorded with the known spelling. It might be worth searching newspapers for any mention of the marriage or an obituary for another family member which mentions the Christies.

Dear Martine and McCoy, Thank you for your replies and information. I do have Power ancestors in Waterford/Stradbally and have been contacted by someone (who claims to be a 4th cousin) in Kerry re Catherine Power . Catherine Power appears to be born in Co Kerry but maybe her ancestors have gone back further and thy were originally from Stradbally. All very interesting so thank you.
