Hello!

I've been able to trace my Kelly family lineage back to John Kelly, Sr., a tenant farmer who, in 1817,  resided in Barntick and farmed in Ballybeg.  The Kellys continued to live and farm in Ballybeg until sometime between 1901 and 1911.

It's most likely that the Kellys were members of the churck of Sts. Peter and Paul in Clarecastle and I am wondering if John Sr. would have been a member of that church or perhaps a predecessor church in Clarecastle or a nearby parish.

Where might I find information on Church history in Clarecastle parish and its environs?  Which churches were established prior to the mid-1830s?

Best regards,

Karen
