Hello I am researching my great grandfather James Tracey who I believe was born in the Thurles area of Tipperary abt 1840/41, the third son of Edmund Tracey and Johanna Corcoran. James was married in Launceston, Tasmania in 1870 and he possibly deserted from the UK military in 1863 at Clonmel. James moved to Victoria, Australia in the early 1870s and died in 1909. I have been searching for any information on either James or his parents Edmund and Johanna. I have searched Ancestry but unable to find the Baptism of James or his parents marriage. Any information greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Nothing found for James Tracey with parents - Edmund and Johanna Corcoran.
www.rootsireland.ie have an entry for 1818, baptism on 13th May in St. Mary's, Clonmel of Edmund Treasey. Father: Edmund and Mother: Brigid Carew.
