Hi there :) I am looking for information about my grandmother Eileen Gorman. She stated on her marriage certificate to my grandfather, Patrick Daly, in 1941 that her prior address was Friar St Thurles and that her father's name was Maurice Gorman. She died in 1962 when my mother and her siblings were young. My grandfather Patrick Daly was born in 1915 so we believe Eileen was of a similar age. To date we have been unable to uncover a birth record for her or any links to her family members. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Hannah

Hi Miriam, thank you very much for your reply. I have tried all avenues over the years to find my grandmother but haven't had any luck. I have very little information to go on. This is all i know:
Eileen and Patrick married in 1941 in Cahir.
Eileen listed her prior address at Friar St, Thurles and her father's name as Maurice Gorman.
After their marriage they lived in Market St Clogheen where Patrick's family were from.
They had 5 children, Paudie, Estelle, Barbara, Rita (my mum) and Robert.
Eileen died in 1962 from breast cancer. My mum was only 14.
They was never any mention of any of Eileen's family nor any known links to the local area of Clogheen prior to marrying my grandfather.
As you said, there are very few Maurice Gormans in the records and certainly no record of a Maurice having a daughter Eileen. You would think that there being so few Maurice Gorman's it may be easier to narrow down but no such luck :)
I'm thinking that perhaps Eileen was illegitimate but the link to Maurice Gorman seems very specific?
My only hope is maybe Eileen was born between the years 1918-1921 and that the records are yet to be released. I'm really hoping that the 1926 census will uncover something when it is finally released.
Any suggestions you may have would be greatfully received.
