Daniel and Mary (Flood) Fogarty lived in Clonoulty in the first half of the nineteenth century and had 3 children that I can site, but possibly more, Bridget, Dennis an Alice.
Bridget and Dennis joined their father Daniel in emigrating to Vermont USA. Alice left Australia. Have no idea what happened to their mother Mary Fogarty, whether she died in Ireland, in transit, or made it to America.

Daniel and Mary's children were born in Clonoulty but they seem to have originated more in the Thurles area. Perhaps he came down to Persue his tailor trade.

Hi again Peter, found two Floods in Catholic Parish of Clonoulty/Rossmore in Griffiths valuatiom, only five in the barony of Kilnamanagh lower.
This wouls suggest Mary was from Clonoulty, and that they possibly married in Clonoulty.
Records for Clonoulty started in 1805, and are on line free to search at www.registersnli.ie.
Best of luck and let me know how you get on.

Hello Peter, I just came across your query. My husband is descended from Alice Fogarty who came to Australia. Alice married Timothy Ryan in 1839 in Clonoulty. Catherine came to Australia in 1842.
