I came across a newspaper (Tralee Chronicle, 01 Apr 1843) article that lists persons entitled to vote and it shows three entries for Francis Chute; (the numbers are mine). I'm not sure how to interpret this and hope some kind soul can clarify it for me.
1. Chute, Francis, late of Spring-hill, now of Tulligaron, Esq. - as a Freeman of the borough of Tralee.
2. Chute, Francis, of same, Esq. , - as a Burgess of the borough of Tralee.
3. Chute, Francis, of same, Esq., - as a Free Burgess of the borough of Tralee.
Does this mean there were three different men named Francis Chute, all living at Tulligaron? Or was it the case that one individual named Francis Chute was entitled to vote three times, or was thrice qualified as a voter?
