The file below is a picture of the house in which my Great Grandfather was born. He emigrated in 1878 to Western Australia.
The picture was taken by a cousin who visited Scarriff in the Eighties, but cannot remember the exact location of the property.
The cottage is a little outside of Scarriff, perhaps along the way to MountShannon. It was the cottage of Michael Guilfoyle and I am keen to pinpoint its exact location for posterity and so it may be visited at a later date.
Can anyone help?

Can you give me more information about Michael? When he was born and his parents' names? I can look at the townland and work through the records to see where the cottage is and if it still exists.

Hi Jane,
He was born in 1859 and baptised on 21 March 1860 in the Scarriff Parish. His Father's name was Michael and his Mother's name was Maray Peril (or pearl)
