I'm trying to trace my g/grandmother Mary HAYES born Killoran, Tipperary 1844, daughter of James Hayes and Cathy Sause (who had married in Killoran in 1826). James and his brother John are listed in Griffiths Valuation 1827 as occupying land in Killoran. James and Catherine Hayes died in Holycross, Thurles, James in Dec, 1880 and Catherine in Jan, 1881.
Mary married John Hester in Brentford, London in1867. Their firstborn was Annie (who later went to America with her husband William Smith) and Patrick 1870-71. Mary was widowed in 1871 and married William Sullivan C1875. She died in London between 1891 and 1898.
Her siblings, also born in Killoran were:
John (b1828)
Michael (b1830)
Margaret (b1837)
Catherine (b1840)

Many thanks for all of that, Eamonn. I'm checking it all out now. Looking at the Ireland Catholic Parish Registers I've found various siblings for Mary Hayes and by those dates it wouldn't fit that Cath Sause baptised on 19 April 1827 wouldn't be the mother of Mary Hayes.
Much food for thought now!
