looking for descendants of Jeremiah O'Brien & Nora Quinlan of Ballylanders. They had siblings bap 1842 Patrick, 1846 Margaret, 1850 Honour, 1854 Catherine, 1856 Bridget in RC Parish Ballylanders. Catherine &Bridget immigrated to Dunedin NZ in 1874. Bridget married Patrick McNamara in 1878, Catherine married Patrick O'Farrell in 1884. Many years ago a son of Catherine & Patrick OFarrell visited Ballylanders and met up with distant relatives. I would love to know if anyone knows of this family or has connections. Regards Gail NZ.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Have you tried Familysearch or rootsireland to see if you can locate any record about the above siblings, particulay marriage records for the girls and then any of their children who remained in Ireland? In the meantime I hope a Ballylanders relative will be in touch. There are a couple of O'Brien entries on the Griffith's Valuation in the mid-19th century in Ballylanders. If you could identify them from the Griffith's there is a way to trace them through later Valuation record up to the 1980s though these later records are not online so you will need to either get to Dublin or hire a researcher.
The Irish online phone book shows no residential entries for an O'Brien in Ballylanders but there is one business listing. You could write to them as a long shot on the info in the link above.
Best wishes
