My g-g-g-grandmother was Catherine Brennan (1796-1867.) I do not know her maiden name. She was married to John Brennan, whom I have no information on. She was born in Ireland and had eight children, John, Dennis, Michael, Sarah, Mary, Margaret, Ellen, and Hannah, all born in Ireland. Dennis is my g-g-grandfather. Catherine, Dennis, and Hannah all appear on the 1861 Canadian census in Nelson, Halton, Ontario. I do not know how or when they got there. Dennis bought property in Spartansburg, Pennsylvania, in 1863, and I know that Catherine joined him there, but I do not know what happened to Hannah. Dennis and his brother John enlisted in the Civil War together in 1863, in Spartansburg, but I do not know how or when John got to Pennsylvania. John died in Spartansburg in 1865 and Catherine died there in 1867. Dennis died in 1873 in Buffalo, NY. All three are buried together in St. Thomas Cemetery in Corry, PA. Obviously, I have many missing pieces of information, but I am determined to follow through and find as much as I can. Family lore (my Grandmother Frances Eleanor Brennan 1910-2000) says the family is from County Kerry. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
