John Cluin was the son of Michael Clune and Bridget Kane (Cain) ,He was born about 1815 in county Clare . Michael CLUNE was a farmer .I know nothing about his father . John Cluin immigrated to Canada along with his mom and other siblings around 1844 . I presume that his dad had passed away around that time . Looking for info of that family living in county Clare , Ireland .
Margaret Grealy was the daughter of Luke Grealy and Margaret McGrath. She was born around 1823 from County Clare and immigrated to Canada around 1848 ,possibiliy with a sister Catherine and her husband Edward Green. She also have no information of her families life in county Clare Ireland .
John Cluin and Margaret Grealy would marry in Canada in 1849. I have no idea if they knew each other families in Ireland .
If anyone recognises some of these names I would love to connect.
thank you

Hi Cluin McAlear:
I believe that you and I have already corresponded on this family. The parish records are probably not available due to the early part of the 1800s that you are looking for. I checked Quin where a large number of Clune families resided and the records begin in 1816 but there are no families with the combination of Michael Clune and Bridget Cain there. I have looked through a number of parish registers where many Clune families resided: Tulla, Quin, Clooney, Clonea, etc and I did not find any combination of the above parents names for family. That only means that the parish where John Clune was born probably did not keep the parish register back to 1815.
However, there are other ways of narrowing down your search from county to parish. If you search through the Tithe Applotment Books for parishes or townlands where both the surnames existed: Clune and Caine/Cain/Kean, you may be able to narrow down those parishes. You should note from prior research experience that the surname Cain/Caine/Kain/Kane was often a variant of Keehan or Keane which was pronounced (Cain).
I would be interested in corresponding with you as I'm doing Phd reesearch on several of the Clune families who migrated to the U.S. It is possible that Crusheen (Inchicronan) might be a parish of interest to you.
