Hi, I'm looking for information on my great grandfather John Joseph Barrett. He was most likely born about 1856, the son of William Barrett and Margaret Horrigan. I believe he had a brother William, born 1879, and a sister Mary, born 1877. He migrated to Australia in 1876 aboard the Scottish Baird. William was born around 1831 and married Margaret, born around 1830, on the 16th October 1864 in Dungourney.

No luck searching on the subscription site Roots Ireland for a baptismal record for John Joseph Barrett around 1856 using the parents name you provided. The RC parish for Dungourney civil parish would be Imogeela. I did find a baptismal record for a Margaret Barrett father William Barrett and mother Margaret Horgan date was May 6 1858 and the RC parish was Conna which is just north of Imogeela.
There was also a marriage record February 26 1854 in Conna RC parish for William Barrett and Margaret Horgan which I'm sure is the same couple shown in the Margaret Barrett record but is this the correct family?
Are the years of birth for William and Mary correct?

Margaret Barrett baptized 6 May 1858 in parish of Conna. Address: Garrane. Parents: Wm. Barrett, Margaret Horgan. Witnesses: John Casey, Margaret Fitzgerald.
Her parents married 26 Feb. 1854 in parish of Conna. Witnesses: Cath. Barrett, Wm. Neil
