Hi My father has spent many years researching our Joyce family tree. He has traced the line back to Patrick L Joyce who was born in Fethard Tipp 1776 and died there in 1847. He married Catherine Fitzgerald in 1800 . Catherine was born in Fethard in 1782 and died in Edgeton Rock Wisconsin USA in 1868. After Patrick's death Catherine too half of the children to Wisconsin USA and sent the other half to live in Goitside , Bradford Yorkshire England, where my line of the family eventually settled in my home town of Burnley Lancashire. I am hoping someone out there has any further info about Patrick, Catherine & Family or indeed any info on my Joyce line in Ireland , England and USA.
Many Thanks
Marie

Hi, The only Patrick Joyce I found was in a Parish called Modeshil in the town of Modeshill.
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…This is the map, if you click on the - sign 4 times to zoom out) you will see Fethard at the left towards the bottom.

These records are from the Tithe records 1823 to 1837.
This is the document................. number 103 is Patrick
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/reels/tab//004239504/00…Deaths in those days were not logged, until 1864 when the civil records were introduced.
If they were Catholic then this is where to look ..............................records are from 1806
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0263Martin Joyce b 1825, was he related?
You say he was born in MURROOGH, this is in County Clare. this is the map.

Church records are from 1854 and the place comes under Ballyvaughan.Catherine Fitzgerald....................................
Do you know her Fathers name?
Tradition is that the first son is named after His or Her father. There is a James Fitzgerald in Modeshill.
But we would need the correct info.

Hi!
I am starting out with geneology. I was wondering if you ever figured out Catherine Fitz-Gerald's parents' names.
Thank you!
