Wondering if anyone has known connections to Thadeus Keane (abt 1805-bef 1858) and Mary Lyne (abt 1806-bef 1858).
Their daughter, Mary Keane (recorded as Kane) was married to Cornelius Shea in Ottawa, Canada in 1858.
I have scoured the church records and other sources for Mary Keane's birth and based on information from her marriage certificate and Killeentierna church records, it appears she was likely born in 1840 or 1841 (despite the baptismal record saying Mary was born and baptized in October 1842).
Thadeus Keane and Mary Lyne appear to have been married in Castleisland on 5 Nov 1836 then settled in Killeentierna where they had at least 4 children:
- Ellen (baptized 29 May 1838)
- Mary
- Catherine (baptized 17 Jul 1842)
- Daniel (baptized 5 Jul 1842)
I only have a subscription to Ancestry plus the NLI church records searches in Killeentierna and Castleisland. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Dear Kathleen: Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board. You might note that the Kerry church records are available online through the Irish Genealogy website, The civil records are also there but only begin in 1864.
The link is below: https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/irish-records-what-is-available/church-records.
You might also consider creating an Ancestor Profile for your family members through the XO Chronicles tab which is located at the top of this page. The Chronicles are updated weekly and widely read by our members—some who may be researching the same family.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane
