i have recently discovered that some of my Irish ancestors came from a townland called Laghile (sometimes spelled Loughisle) just south of Templemore. From what I can see, this is a fairly small townland. I was wondering if anyone had any information about this area, or know of any connection to a Maher family. I am interested in anything regarding the area!
(John Maher and Mary Cormack, my ggg grandparents, had their children there between 1859 and 1875.)
I am planning a trip that will include a visit to this area and I’d like to get as much information about it as possible! Thank you!

Eamonn,
Thank you! I’ve come across these documents before and I think that the most likely birth record for Mary is the Timothy Cormack/Ellen Gleeson because Mary had only one daughter, named Ellen.
All the best,
Jamie
