I wish I had found you sooner! If you can assist or direct us, we'd be thrilled. We'd love to find out more about the area, the actual location (if it still exists) and learn more about the family. It would be amazing to find out if there are any relatives still living in the area, too. 

We have an online copy of a baptismal record for Martin Ryan (parents Marting Ryan and Mary Browne, sponsors John and Mary Brown) stating he was baptized on May 10 1845 in Drumrany Parish. 

(Under Martin's baptismal entry, there is another one that may be a relation. I haven't been able to connect them yet.)

I also have an online record for Civil Registration Deaths Index, 1864-1958 for Mary Brown. The registration district is Mullingar. Wondering if that may be Martin Ryan (the younger's mother). 

I would so appreciate any advise on who to contact that may be able to assist with our search.

    Can you advise what information you have on Martin Ryan and his parents? I only see just the baptismal record for Martin in 1845 and no baptismal records for siblings. Did Martin Sr. and Mary and Martin Jr. emigrate post 1845?

    Drumraney civil parish and the related RC parish of Drumraney are in the southwest corner of Co. Westmeath between Co. Longford to the north, Co. Roscommon to the west and Co. Offaly to the south.

    The death record you found is not for your Mary Brown. She would have been shown as Mary Ryan on the death record and Mullingar is not the registration district for people who live in Drumraney civil parish.

    There were no Ryans listed in the 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Drumraney civil parish and no Ryans in the 1901 census for the parish. There were a number of Brown/Browne families in both files.
