My ancestor from Kilkenny is Ellen Lawless (1840-1893), daughter of Edmund Lawless (1803-1874) and Margaret Palmer b (2nd March1803).
Ellen came to Australia 20 Aug 1860 on the Ocean Home and went to live with her sister Eliza who married Kevin Bolger, Eliza arrived on the Admiral Boxer in 1858.
1. I would like to know who her father Edmund Lawless' parents were, we've searched for many years. Edmund was a tailor, born in Warrington and died in Black Quarry.
2. Margaret Palmer his wife is the daughter of William Palmer and we believe Mary Hayes both born about 1780. Did they have other children, we think maybe a William and also a Bridget? We have some DNA matches that seem to suggest this.
I would be very greatful for any additional information that any of your members may be able to find, there are many descendants of these families in Australia and USA that we know of.
Thank you for your interest
