Good afternoon,
I am a coadmin of the Murphy DNA project at FamilytreeDNA and am looking for any Murphy men whose Murphy ancestors may have lived around Bandon, Dunmanway, or Innishannon. I am hoping some of you may be willing to take a Y DNA test and join the Murphy DNA project at FamilytreeDNA.
My 3rd great grandfather Thomas Murphy 1822-1877 and two older siblings were born at Derrynasafagh, Dunmanway Parish. I believe the oldest siblings may have been born in or near Bandon. One of the oldest brothers James Murphy's death notice said he was a native of Bandon among the early settlers of New Bandon, New Brunswick. Family settled in New Bandon circa 1826.

Hi Kevin,
You might try getting in touch with Bandon Historical society museum http://bandonhistoricalmuseum.org/. They might be able to put you in touch with local genealogy experts or indeed some Murphys that might be interested!
Also, I can see that the Historic Graves website has uploaded surveys of two graveyards in Bandon. https://historicgraves.com/graveyards-map. Perhaps a search of these graveyards for Murphys may help you triangulate ancestors in your search.
Good luck!
