Hello,
I am looking for any information on my 3rd Great Grandmother Margaret Joyce. She was born circa 1825 in Kilgeever parish county Mayo. I do not know who her parents were or if she had any siblings. She married my 3rd Great Grandfather John Ball and the had two children; Michael and Hanora or Hannah. Michael would have been born around 1844 or 1845 and Hanora or Hannah was born in 1847. They left for America in 1848 or 1849 and arrived in Boston then settled in Wisconsin. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

Thank you for your response. I will attempt to get her and John's death certificates to see if I can find out who there parents were. Also I will add her to the page. I did do Ancestry.com DNA which I am not sure if that uses autosomal DNA? The DNA results show that I am from the Connacht region of Ireland. Thanks again.

The Ancestry test is autosomal. I would suggest that you look into Gedmatch www.gedmatch.com Gedmatch is a volunteer run site where you can load your raw DNA data and see if you match others who tested with another company (and also loaded their data to Gedmatch). It expands your matching pool.
