I'm back! Still searching for Mary's Baptism record probably in Kilrush, Co. Clare, 1851. I've checked St. Senan's Baptisms from Jan 1850 to Dec 1853. I then tried to check C of I records for Parish Kilimy and Knockeny Diocese of Killaloe, but found the records begin at 1859. Roots Ireland shows 1 record for baptism of Mary Carey/Corey. I am not convinced it is the correct record and can't view it without subscribing. Is there another way of finding Mary's Baptism? Mother Mary Carey/Corey (absconded from Kilrush Workhouse, leaving 3 children behind) and Father Robert Kean/e. At times Mary used Kean/e as a surname, however I do not think her parents were married as she mostly used Carey, Corey, Curry or Currie. I am also looking for the name of the ship which brought her to Australia, either Moreton Bay, Maryborough or Rockhampton. She was married at 17 in Rockhampton in 1870 (had to seek special permission). I have records of marriages to 3 men (Charles Manins 1870, George Blackman 1884, Thomas Naughton 1925) and 1 defacto (Henry Smith, Blackall), births of 10 children and death in 1931 (Rockhampton). Each time Mary married she did not marry in an RC church but was buried according to the rites of the RC Church. Are there any records which can be viewed online of people in the Kilrush Workshouse between 1849 and 1855?

Hi thanks for your response. I did see that and another which someone on Ancestry has claimed, Pat Kean/Mary Lillis as Mary jnr's parents. Mary consistently stated her father's name was Robert Kean/e and her mother's name varied according to the transcriber. It was nothing like Lillis. I have also considered that Robert may have been the second name and Thomas the first. I joined a Teams Presentation by Students from Limerick University on Friday night and Sharon offered to look at the Family History Library. I had planned to come back to Ireland last year to track Mary and Robert down, however something has delayed those plans. Hope I'm not too old to travel by the time the world has recovered. I also have ancestors from Tipperary and Kilkenny to find so I'll be busy. Thank you again, maybe I just need to systematically search the whole of Munster! Kind regards, Ruth Linde
