Greetings: I have been researching my genealogy for about 10 years. My mother's family, O'Keefe, emmigrated to the United States in 1838 and settled in Harford County and Baltimore County, Maryland. David Keeffe, my 3rd great grandfather, and his family came from Mitchelstown, County Cork. My 2nd Great Grandfather, Thomas O'Keefe, married Mary Catherine Ward on April 6, 1856 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Harford County Maryland. On one of their children's baptismal records I found a note that mentioned Mary Catherine Ward was from Wootonstown, County Louth. I assume it should have been Wottonstown, and I located the parish in Manfieldstown. From census records, I approximate her birthdate about 1835, and she would have come to the US before 1856. I would appreciate any information.
Thank You,
Dennis Seitz

Hi Dennis,
There are 11 Mary Ward baptism records from Louth 1835 + - 2 years on www.rootsireland.ie/
However, neither of the parish names you mentioned is in the list of the parishes - all of which are R C
The National Library has made the RC records freely available registers.nli.ie/ but neither parish is listed there either.
I'm no Louth expert but IF Manfieldstown records were included with Kilsarin then this is the only one from there:

Col,
Thanks for your information and reply. It would be helpful to find a record of a passenger list which might list other family members during the 1840's to the early 1850's. I would guess they would have also landed at Baltimore, Maryland. I'll keep hunting for records on Ancestry.com.
Thanks,
Dennis
