O'Connells in Carran (Carne?), Killimer

Wendy    My second great grandfather Patrick O'Connell was born in 1827 and the family was from Shanagolden.  His wife was Anne Reddin.  They had a son Michael, my great grandfather, born in born in Ireland in 1847 died in Sioux City Iowa in 1931.  Michael and his wife Anne Guerin, 1851 also died in SiouX City in 1931.  Michael and Anne Had 16 children, including my granfather Francis (Frank) born in Henry Iowa in 1889.  I believe he was the first of the kids born in the U S.  Franks siblings included Margaret 1876-1910 born in Ireland died in Iowa. Anna (Annie) Margaret, born also 1976 but death is listed as Iowa, but in 1939.  Not sure if this is the same person, but looks like it.   Also listed as siblings are Margaret O'Connell and Margaret Fleming, born in 1882 both, so I think they would be the same person, but dont know why they would name more than one daughter Margaret.  Also of interest to me, there was a child Mary, born in 1871 in Ireland and died that same year.  Then in 1891 in the U S another child was born and named Mary, and she also died in that same year.  Mary not a lucky name in that family.  I can give you the names of the other siblings if you want.  I know of an aunt that I was familiar with name Nan Yunk.  I dont know who her mother or father was but I met her in Kansas in the early 1970s.  It would appear that we may be second or third cousins.

My father is decendent from Patrick O'connell 1746 and Honor Callinan 1756.  He has DNA connections to them but we have not figured out the details completely.  Our best guess is they had a granddaughter - and she married a man with the surname Taylor.  My 2x great grandmother Ann Taylor was born in Jan 1834.  It seems she is the great granddaughter to Patrick and Honor but again, we are missing the possible 2 generations of cofirmation of who is who.
