Used John Grenham's map of surnames, and came upon this parish as a good clue for finding my g-g-grandparents, Thomas O'Dea (O'Day/O'Dee) and Catherine Houlihan (Houlehan). Thomas' parents were James and Mary. He was born around 1825 (per his death certificate in NY). Catherine's parents were Michael and Nora and she was born around 1840 (per death certificate in NY).
What resources can I use online to search for their existance in this county?
THANK YOU!

Fáilte Anne Marie!
Have you seen John Grenham's list of online resources available in Kilrush?
To get started try:
https://www.familysearch.org/ (FREE but need to create an account). This should give you an idea of what dates and parishes you may wish to investigate more.
Then (armed with a parish name and year and month of baptism) check out:
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/ (FREE) take careful note of the witness and godparents names, as these may help confirm a location if the address is not given.
For dates after 1864 you should also check out:
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ (FREE) especially for death and marriage records as these two give clues to townland and kinship.
Clare Library has a treasure trove of records online (to include transcriptions of a number of parish registers):
http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm (FREE)
When you have some address leads, you can then get into researching placenames and locations:
http://www.genealogy.nationalarchives.ie
And mapping them:
http://askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
The following Fee Paying Sites are pretty helpful for more advanced research:
Ancestry
My Heritage.
Hope this helps!
