James Parlin and Elizabeth Whearty (of Rathescar) are my great great grandparents. They had the following children: Patrick (my great grandfather) (married Margaret Farley); John; James; Mary (married Bartholomew Callan); Michael (married Mary Healy); Henry (an ordained Catholic priest) and Brigid (married Patrick Coddington). I have not been able to find much on the son John Parlin and there is some suggestion that he might be the youngest son.

Hello D, I found what appear to be the records you reference, the Parlin name appears to have evolved or the transcriptions are very poor, also the Whearty is misspelled on occassion, the marriage is in Termonfeckin in 1853, assume this is her parish, Also the townland may be Galroostown, there is a site on Termonfeckin here http://www.termonfeckinhistory.ie/ The marraige of Elizabeath is to Jacob McGarland which again is a mis transcription I think, you can view the actual entry yourself here but can only look by hear and month. There is a lot of Whearty on the site but not Parlin. https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632629#page/111/mode/1up The surname is not very clear for him, I had a look.
The children I found do not include Bridget but I see her 1887 marraige with her father James deceased, James 1860; Michael 1864; Henry 1866; Mary 1862; John 1857 and Pat in 1855. I see some births post 1864 and these should be available to view here, it is free but sign in https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ You too may have difficulI looked for John in the 1901 census but only found a Michael Parlin a shopkeeper with a servant living in the house. No other Parlins appear but again may be a spelling issue.
This site has the grave inscriptions for Dromin and I see Henry and the parents and Mary Callan plus a John is mentioned in the text but not in the transcriptons here of in the Article I have copied from the CLAHS Journal, however I think I have the book of transcriptions which I have looked for but could not locate. I have been to Dromin cemetery and have posted some pictures of the old church and graveyard on this site. http://jbhall.clahs.ie/index.html
The Dunleer History Society have a private Facebook page which may interest you, but they do not do genealogy but some old photos there.
Feel free to seek more information if you wish.
