Part of this DYER family ended up in Gurteen Parish (Townland Mweelroe). Peter DYER (from Cuppenach at the time) married my great grandmother, Ann(e) McGill in 1889. One of their daughters (my grandmother), Ellen Dyer, was born in 1896. She and most of her siblings emigrated to Boston and married there.
I am traveling to Gurteen early next month and would love to hear from anyone who is a member of, or knows more about, this DYER family .

Dear Deborah:
Thank you for your post to the IReland Reaching Out message board. We have a volunteer in nearby Drumrat civil parish and I will be meeting with him on Monday. I will enquire then and let you know next week.
In the meantime, please consider creating an Ancestor profile on the XO Chronicles about any of your ancestors as others may also be researching the same family.
Kind regards,
Jane

I will be meeting a Sligo volunteer tomorrow afternoon and will bring his attention to your post. FYI, I also have McDonough ancestry from Sligo who settled in Fall River Massachusetts.
All the best,
Jane
