My mtDNA trail leads me back to Anne (maiden name unknown) who is my 3 times great-grandmother. She was the wife of Joseph Jackson. Joseph and Anne emigrated from Ireland to Ontario, Canada in 1832 with their children. Ballymagerny, Loughgall, Armagh is listed as the residence of Joseph and Anne on the baptismal records of several their children in the time frame of 1808 to 1816. I was very gratefully to receive this baptismal information from Ireland XO researchers.
My Family Tree DNA results show an mtDNA match (1 genetic distance) to a Mary Jane Robinson, b. 1805, d. 1880 in Tartaraghan. I am wondering if there is a connection between the Robinsons and Jacksons in the Tartaraghan area. Could Mary Jane's maiden name have been Jackson? Would movement between Tartaraghan and Ballymagerny be likely in the 1700's or early 1800's? Could Anne's maiden name have been Robinson?
I also have an autosomal match to a Robert Jackson who emigrated from Armagh to Australia in about the 1840s. This Robert is thought to have been the son of a Henry Jackson who was a "linen manufacturer" in Armagh.
I would appreciate any information or suggestions that you may have. Thank you!

Tartaraghan and Loughgall are adjacent so it would be perfectly possible for someone in Ballymagerny to later be living in Tartaraghan. Map of the parishes in Co. Armagh here:

A quick look at the link you provided shows a lot of interesting data, such as most common names in Tartaraghan - Jackson and Robinson included. I will look into it further.
Thank you, Elwyn.

Hello,
The Robert Jackson, who is on my family tree (Graham-Armagh) and ended up in Australia married Isabella Graham, the daughter of David Graham and Margaret Hamilton.
Robert and Isabella had 5 children. Can I suggest that you get in touch with Barbara Gow who lives in Australia and has followed the Jackson/Graham side of the family. She has a great deal of information re this particular Jackson, if that is what you are looking for. You can reach her by email;- barbaragow90@gmail.com
By all means tell her I sent you.
Wishing you every success.
