I'm searching for my great great grandfather who was from Ennistimon born in the 1830s. He emmigrated to the USA in the 1856. He married Margaret Fitzgibbens from Ennis but I can not find any record of the births or marriage in any of the recommended places.

Hi CathyB:
Your difficulty with finding records may be due to the lack of them in the 1830s. Unfortunately, the Ennistymon registers don't go back that far.
However, Ennis parish has digitised its records online through the parish website. Have you tried them? If not, here is the link: https://www.ennisparish.com/
You will need to scroll down to the right hand side of the page and Genealogy will appear. You can view both the baptism and marriage registers which date back to about 1840.
Civil Registration only began in 1864 so you will not find a marriage record before that time period, unless the family was Church of Ireland.
I would also recommend that you check the Clare Library. The website is here: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm
Let me know if you need further assistance.
All the best,
Jane

Thank-you Jane for your hints.
I have checked those sites and haven't found any references to my ancestors. I will continue to search for marriage records in the US that hopefully will give me the names of the parents.
If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
Best regards,
Cathy
