  • Hi Margaret, I am looking over unanswered queries  and I cannot find the baptism you mention for the workhouse, nor any child born to a Frost / Cleary, there is a Catherine Frost baptised in 4th, June, 1857 in the parish of Parteen, address Derra, father James and mother Mary Griott, really odd name but there are at least two siblings also to those parents.

I see your record for Catherine mother Margaret Cleary in 1854 now.

You can see the entry here but only search by event and month and year, https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0887 The parish is in Limerick diocese but County Clare, part of the north side of Limerick city is in Clare.

There may also be some parishes that have no records at this poiint, and is there a reason you picked Clare. THere are two other Catherine Frosts baptised in Limerick also, 1859 and 1861.

Frost is an unsual surname in Ireland and you can see surname distribution here, free to look but a subscription site, https://www.johngrenham.com/surnames/ and post 1864 civil registrations are free to view here, church records are very limited on this site and no Clare, only 3 counties in there. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

    Good Luck
