According to their marriage certificate, James Fullerton Luke and Mary Carson were married in 1869 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Both gave their birth place as Ahoghill. From that time on their surname became Fullerton and all descendants since had/have that name. James' father's name was given as James Luke and his mother's as Mary Fullerton. Mary's father's name was given as James Carson and mother's as Margaret Fullerton. Can anyone give me any information about these families, particularly with regard to the name change, please?
