Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can point me in a direction to start looking for the marriage of William Wilson and Sarah Henderson, in Carnmoney around 1845 based on the birth dates of their children.
They eventually moved to Australia, settling in Melbourne.
Any thoughts on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sue,
I've attached the marriage record from rootsireland. (Unfortunate name for us Aussies!)
The parish list on the search site didn't have Carnmoney; there were a few ending with money but it was Antrim Presbyterean.
If you purchase the record you will get parents' names and perhaps a different name for the parish.

thanks for that Col.
Yes the name Rootsireland always makes me giggle. Looking back through some of my research, I also have the marriage listed as Belfast.......... it had Carnmoney on one death cert and Belfast on the other. Cheers. Will let you know if I find it.

Marriage was registered in Antrim town 1846 Volume 1, page 131. You can order a photocopy of the full civil cert from GRO Roscommon for 4 euros. You may get a few extra details from it that are not on the roots site.http://www.groireland.ie/
Tradition was to marry in the bride?s church so that?s probably where to look for her baptism and that of any siblings. Her father appears to have been William Henderson. Antrim 1st Presbyterian's records go back to the 1690s so you may do quite well there.
