Hi all, I have just started my family history journey and have got as far back as Edward & Anne White. I am wondering if anyone can assist me to delve further back from here, as I have exhausted all leads I know of. Inexperience may well be a contributing factor ;)
Thanks in advance for any forthcoming information.
Regards Allan Crawford White, Australia.

If you order a copy of that marriage certificate, it should give you the couples townlands (addresses) and father's names and occupations - information you can use to research the family further. In addition, tradition was to marry in the bride's chruch which should be on the certificate. So that would be the place to look for her baptism and that of any siblings.
You can order a photocopy of the marriage cert for ?4 from GRO Roscommon.
Let us know what information is on the certificate and we'll try and suggest where to search next.

Thanks Ahoghill, I do appreciate you supplying me with this infomatiion and will follow up on it. I have just been admiring the area that they were married in via Google, beautiful and obviously steeped in history, I would love to take a trip over one day and experience it first hand. Cheers ;)
