I am looking for information about the Hannon/Hannan family that had a daughter Margaret who came out to Melbourne, Australia, in 1850 aged 16 on the 'Eliza Caroline'. She gave her Irish residence as Hacketstown but she may also have moved via the workhouse at Shillelagh. Her 1853 marriage papers say her father was Matthew Hannan and mother Eliza McGuire. Her 1876 NSW death certificate gives father's name as Michael but that came from her daughters who presumably never knew him. Victorian birth certificates for her children give Co Wicklow as here birth county and there are Hannons in Wicklow close to Co Carlow in Griffiths valuations. I believe her mother remarried somebody named White and had 2 more boys from that union. Any confirmatory and extra information about siblings would be appreciated . Ric

Thank you D for those Hannon links. I have seen some of them. They may be relatives but unfortunately they do not add clarity to my knowledge base. However, that is the jigsaw puzzle that I am trying to solve. I greatly appreciate your contribution. A personal visit to the Hacketstown area is probably the best option when I get a chance.
