The Rathvilly baptismal records start in October 1797 and the marriages in 1800 http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0727 so likely any children born before Thomas preceded October 1797 so a record would not be available. The marriages start too late also. I would still check the first pages of the baptismal register to see if you see any children.

There was a Dennis Lawler in the 1826 Tithes for Rathvilly.

The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Rathvilly parish shows a number of Lalors including a Denis in Patrickswell which was one of the townlands in the Tithes. Thank you for your informative reply and the links. It would seem the marriage of Dennis and Mary will have to remain my brick wall for this line.

There are a lot of this family about in various documents to untangle.

I also have Lalor roots in Rathvilly. My 2x great grandmother, Anna (Barrett ) Deering's,  parents were Patrick Barrett and Judith Lalor. They married in 1810 in Rathvilly. Their townland was Knockavagh.

Would be open to sharing information and brainstorming.

Yes I do have an Ancestry account but there is no more on it than in my first mail above. I have looked at the public members trees and note that there are three trees but none have much information going back. I am guessing one of them will be yours.

I have collected other bits and pieces of Lawlor (plus varients) over the years from other researcher but have never been able to put the scraps together so they are not on the tree. I am busy next week but after that I can try and get to grips with the notes. Unfortunately Judith is not a name I remember.

My thoughts for the moment: If Judith was married in 1810 then she could be a sibling  or cousin to my Mary & Thomas mentioned above. I think there may be an elder son called Dennis, so presumably the first son. I have looked for siblings but no luck in Rathvilly PRs so assume that there were more children but they moved, which means a lot of trawling through PRs in ever increasing circles which at the moment I do not have time for without some sort of clue as to where to look.

Reading through this I have not been very helpfull. Sorry.

I just saw your latest posting, Sorry for the delay.

The Rathvilly marriages list Patrick Barrett's and Judith Lalor's marriage as 1810. They had a daughter, Anna (might be Hannah) who was born in either 1812 or 1815/16. (differing dates and sources.) She might have been baptised at a chapel in Tynock townland. Tynock is east of the townland of Knockavagh, where the Barrett's lived; and it may be on a road south of Baltinglass. 

I'd put Judith's age around 20 years for marriage. Maybe born 1790 or so. She might have been a sibling or cousin to Thomas and Mary OR she might have been a sibling to Dennis.

I could't be certain of the name of your tree on Ancestry. The one that looked most likely the Susan Ball Family Tree.             Mine is the Walker/Cox.
