Searching for Bridget Callaghan and sister Ellen Callaghan. We believe they lived in Cavan. Bridget was born about 1873 and Ellen was born in 1873. Both immigrated to US in 1899 to New York.

Unfortunately no. We do think New Ross is a clue and we were told Cavan. Ellen according to census came to US in 1899 living in Newark. Bridget according to census (if correct) came over same year. The 1910 census has Ellen Callaghan married to Patrick Bolger immigration year 1898, birth 1875 Newark, NJ. Thank you

You may want to check out the Ellis Island site www.ellisisland.org and find the record of Bridget and Ellen coming into NYC. It will show who their contact was in the area. Unfortunately 1899 was too early for data on a contact in Ireland. Around 1906 or so that info was also included on the ships records. Also, death records may show parental data.
