Hello - I am trying to identify a townland for my Sheridan ancestors. It is a John Sheridan who married a Mary Smyth(?) and had at least 1 child, a Mary Sheridan, who married a Patrick Reilly (from Cormaddyduff/Derries).
Mary Sheridan, prior to her wedding, moved in with a aunt & uncle (possibly a Patrick & Margaret Rabbitt) in Kilsaran (this townland is on her wedding cert), but unfortunately her home townland is not listed.
On the 2 files, there is the parish register for John & alsodaughter Mary, both entries 'look' similar.
I have gone through the townland.ie site and cannot see it. (It has been suggested Drumshinny, but I could not see any Sheridans on the 1901 census for there and it does not seem to be). Also tried online sites, again no luck.
Any help appreciated!

Hi Mike
Welcome to IrelandXO.
John's record definitely looks like Drumshinny. There is a Michael Sheridan & Alice Sheridan Leddy in Drumshinny in 1901. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Cavan/Arvagh/Drumshinny/1058857/
Alice Sheridan marriage record indicated, Housekeeper in Cordownan, daughter of James and Husband John Leddy from Drumshinny.
Corradownan is a short walk from Drumshinny !
