I am looking for my ancestor Samuel Davidson (born 1808) in Knockbridge. His parents were Robert Davidson and Jane Davies.
Samuel married Sarah McKelvey (McKelvy), whose parents were Samuel McKelvey and Jane Blumer.
Samuel and Sarah were married in Ireland and had three children Robert (1836), Jane (1838) and Nancy (1840) prior to migrating to Australia in 1842.
If anyone has any information on these people or can help with my search I would be eternally grateful.

Hi Judy,
Greetings from Bailieborough. The Davidson, McKelvey and Blumer Families all attended Corraneary Presbyterian Church, Knockbride. The current spelling is 'Corraneary' but in the past it was spelled ' Coroneary'. McKelvey and Blumer Families are long gone from the area but a Davidson Family remains with a connection to the church. I can pass on details if you drop me an email: lesmck57@yahoo.com Regards, Les http://www.bailiepublications.com

Hi Judy,
With regard to the name Bloomer, the name is no longer but there are the 'Bloomer' Lynch's in Nolagh, to identify the family the maiden name is carried down about 3 generations. If you wish me to contact them I will.

Hi Carmel,
Thankyou so very, very much for your information.
If you can contact this family for me I would very much appreciate it.
I am so glad that you have given me the correct spelling of Bloomer - the spelling that I used was from the shipping register of the 'Anne Milne' which was the ship that the family sailed to Australia on.
Samuel could neither read no write and Sarah could read only, hence I guess the spelling is incorrect.
I have been trying to find information about the family for a number of years but have just come up against a brick wall so to speak.
Irish records are very difficult to find, even through Ancestry.com.
My email address is judepreen@gmail.com.
Many thanks

Carmel,
Thankyou for the information - it will take a bit of time to go through - I will let you know if I turn up anything.
It is interesting to know that Robert Davidson (Samuel's father) was listed on the shipping register as a Weaver.
Whatever you can do for me will be very much appreciated.
