Ann Maher married Thomas Laughlin in Ireland abt. 1845. They had a child, also born in Ireland, Mary. Shortly thereafter Thomas, Ann and Mary, and Thomas Maher, Margaret McDonough Maher, and their three childre emmigrated to America. At the time of the birth of their next child, both families were living close to one another in DuPage County, Illinois.
Both families had children baptized or confirmed at Saint Dennis in Will County, Illinois. Three of the daughters of Ann Maher and Thomas Laughlin married at St. Mulcahys in the year 1885.
I have been looking for over ten years for living cousins, in Ireland and America. I have had my dna tested on Family Tree. I test in the 90+ % for the British Isles, primarily Ireland, England and Wales.
I suspect the Maher and Laughlins emmigrated from Tipperary area. They were Romas Catholic farmers.
Any help will be appreciated.
