My ggrandfather was Michael Moriarty born :? 22/9/1841 Ennis, married Ellen Ashcroft/Ascroft 1869 in Wigan England. Their children were Ellen, Alice, Daniel, Thomas, Mary Margaret who is my grandmother.

Michael's parents are Daniel and Bridget Flannagan. Michael's 2nd wife was Ellen O'Brien.  Daniel died ? 1890, Wigan U K and Bridget died 7/8/1861 also in Wigan UK. Their children were Michael, Patrick, John, James, Margaret and Thomas.

Daniel's father was ? John Moriarty born Ireland c 1812.

Ellen Ascroft's parents are Thomas Ashcroft/Ascroft and Alice Thompson/Thomson/Tomson.

    Ennis town is part of the civil parish of Drumcliff. This falls under the Catholic parish of Drumcliff, sometimes also known as Ennis parish. You can search birth and marriage register indexes here:

    Civil Records:

    Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 so any births, deaths or marriages in the family after this date would be recorded in these records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office. Here are their contact details:

    You could also check for record of the family in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:
