Searching for my great grandfather Terrence O?onnor born approximately 1860 in county Clare.His father's name was Thomas. His mother's name was Eliza ?myers.He married and had 3 children in Ireland Thomas 1887,Martin1889,and Elizabeth 1897. His wife died and he moved to Australia where he married an English girl named Jane Shurven in January 1901.He then had 2 more children Terrence Edward 1902 and Alice Kathleen 1904(my grandmother).I have been unable to find any more information about him or his parents and was hoping someone may be able to help me.

I assume you don't have the name of the first wife of Terence?
Roots Ireland has very few RC parish records for Co. Clare and I checked for 1855-1865 with no success for a Terence O'Connor.
I then looked at the civil birth index records for a Martin O'Connor and there were no 1889 registered births in Co. Clare for a Martin O'Connor. There were records for 1886, 1887 and 1888.
I made an assumption that possibly the wife died in childbirth in 1897 and since the child was named Elizabeth, I wondered if she was named after her mother. Of course, she also could have been named after the grandmother. In any event, I did find a civil death index record for a 30 year old Lizzie O'Connor in the Limerick registration district which covers the southeastern part of Co. Clare.
