My second great grandparents Thomas Laughlin b. abt 1813 in Ireland, and Ann Maher Laughlin b. abt 1825 in Ireland. They married in Ireland and had a child, Mary Laughlin b. abt.1851 also in Ireland. Sometime before 1856 when their next child was born in Illinois, near Chicago, they emmigrated to America and the Chicago area. It appears that Thomas bought some land to farm from a neighbor, John Flannigan, possibly a friend from Ireland. Their youngest child Anna married my great grandfather John Franklin Tracy. About fifteen Laughlins and Tracys are buried at Saint Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Lemont, Illinois.
Ann Maher Laughlin b. abt 1825 in Ireland, maybe County Tipperary. In 1860, living nearby in DuPage County, Illinois is Margaret McDonough Maher, widow of Thomas Maher, both born in Ireland, brother to Ann Maher Laughlin, along with her three children all born in Ireland. I assume Thomas Laughlin and Ann Maher Laughlin, and Margaret McDonough Maher are from the same County and possibly the same Parish.
Can anyone help me find the ones they left behind in Ireland?
