Coleman Family

The RC records for Clondagad RC church do not start until 1846 which appears to be too late for your Coleman ancestors.

I looked at the Tithe Applotment listings for Co. Clare www.titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie

There were 17 Colemans listed in Co. Clare including six in Clondagad parish. Two of the Colemans were Michaels. Since these records go back to 1826, I'm not sure if the Michael father of Martin was old enough to be leasing land.

Thanks for the tip.  I'm not sure if R.C. records would help, but you never know.  I found another Coleman saying he was from Lissycasy over the weekend and he did not come over till 1861.  I think they may have come over 1 or 2 at a time until enough money was sent back for the next.  Also another clue was I found a Coleman Family, Michael and Ann with a son, Lawrence (a name mentioned in the tithes, not too common). I think this family is going to need some untangling...
