Hi, My grgrgrandmother Bridget Reynolds b 1834? was sent from Ennistimon Workhouse to Australia on the "Thomas Aburthnot" in 1850. She was listed as 16 years old, Roman Catholic not read or write and an orphan. Her parents were Michael and Anne Reynolds?. I do not know if she had family alive. She married my Grgrgrandfather John Downey from Dublin in NSW in Nov 1850 and went on to have 11 children in the Murrumbidgee area. (Around Wagga Wagga, Gundagai area) She was on the ship with Father Patrick Magennis from Ireland who took the girls around the countryside in NSW gaining employment for them. Bridget was employed at Sandy Falls near Gundagai by Mr peter Ross as a houseservant.
