My great grandmother Maria Josephine Conole was born in Kilfenora in 1859. Her parents were John and Mary Conole. She migrated to Australia in 1876 where she married James Madden. I believe there are Conoles still living in Kilfenora. I would like to be able to make contact with them and to be able to discover more about the Conole family background.

Hi there,
I have taken a brief search of the 1911 and 1901 census records for the name Conole in County Clare. There are 35 Conoles listed in 1911 and 31 in 1901. In 1901 there were 9 Conoles in Kilfenora. In 1911 there were 8.
Hopefully someone in the community will know whether there are any member of the Conole family still living in the area.
Kind regards,

Hello,
I'm looking for the Connole family too. My second great grandmother Mary Connole b. 1842 Kilfenora, came to Queensland, Australia and married William Day. There were many Connoles at Postman's Ridge near Toowoomba, but my Mary has no obvious relation to them. I have no migration date.
Clare Heritage Centre told me there were twelve Connole families in Kilfenora in 1842. You may be local to me, and I'm happy to share the information they sent me, although your post is so long ago.Lesley
