I have been searching for the origins of my Neville family who emigrated from Ireland to Ottawa, Canada. Family lore said they came from Limerick and my recent DNA testing is pointing me there.
However, today I found what appears to be the possible birth record of my great-great uncle, Andrew Neville in the Killaloe - Milltownmalbay Catholic Parish Register.
Information I have states that Thomas Neville married Bridget Combet/Corbett/Combeau/Canbeau/Combau/Combaw (obviously I have a number of spellings!). They reportedly had at least 3 children:
- Andrew (born about 1842)
- Mary (birth year unknown)
- Bridget, my great-great grandmother (reportedly born in 1842)
The Parish Register states:
- April 29th, 1838 - baptized Andrew, son of Thomas Nevil & wife Bridget Combaw, Shangerso p (d) 2
Since County Clare has so few records available on-line, I have been scouring the Parish Register but it isn't in the best shape. Any suggestions for finding my Bridget and her family? Thanks!!

Kathleen:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Find My Past and Ancestry have transcribed the parish registers including Co. Clare. I looked at the Neville (and variants) baptismal records in Milltownmalbay but there were no other records besides Andrew with the parents Thomas and Bridget Comber. Also did not find a marriage record in Milltownmalbay or in any other RC parish in Co. Clare.
There are two Bridget Neville baptismal records on Roots Ireland in Co. Limerick around 1841-1842 with a father Thomas but the mother was not Bridget Comber (or variant).
You mentioned DNA testing is pointing to Co. Limerick. Which part of Limerick?
