Sorry I deleted my previous post.
Hannah was c 1847 Father Patrick Lafferty..
She is listed on the last census 1911 as married Moymore NorthDistrict :Killaspuglonane
Patrick died 1915 & she was still alive.
I have been unable to find a death on her or anything on the Lafferty family..
I believe her father is listed on Tithes Appl books .
Hoping one of the lovely volunteers may be able to find some things out on this family.
Anything would be greatly appreciated .
Rae Warwick Qld.

Dear rryan:
Thanks for your post. There is someone in that are who may be able to assist. I'll copy your post to them and they should reply to you directly on this thread.
Please give them about 3 weeks due to Christmas holidays. I do know that that particular family surname is still in the area, so there may be a connection there for you.
Have a wonderful Christmas and every best wish for 2018.
Kind regards,
Jane.

Hello,
What was Hannah's married name?
I have been looking for Grady relatives in the area. There was a Hannah Lafferty married to Michael Grady in Lisdoonvarna Catholic Parish on 15 January 1875. The witnesses were named Cullinane, in case that means anything to you.
There was also a Hanorah Lafferty married to a James O'Grady in Ennistymon, who gave birth to a son Thomas in 1877.

Dear Ryan,
Sorry, I haven't come across anything. I am in the US myself, not local in Ireland, and looking for O'Gradys in the area who might be related to James O'Grady (b. about 1810) from the same area. I'll keep any eye out but haven't seen anything. Good luck!

Dear Rae:
My contacts are local for that area, so I'm making those enquiries. We have several volunteers who are very knowledgeable about North Clare. I will let you know when I hear back from them.
All the best,
Jane.

Hi, there are still Laffertys in Cronagort in that the home house is still there and although it has been renovated over the last few years the family are not there but reside in the UK..in fact they had a recent bereavement and came back for the funeral..I am unable to post a link to the notice..Moymore is only a couple of miles away..I do not know the Laffertys personally but read the death notice and made the connection..it's not far from the Cliffs of Moher..

Hi Rae..I see you have the link now to the death notice which gives you the UK address..which is helpful..I will be able to get a photo in the next week or so..I am from Lisdoonvarna originally and still have connections there..I have been told today that the original homestead was replaced by a new house in recent years (as was common in 20/21st century Ireland) but is generally empty until the Laffertys come by on vacation..the house is down a cul de sac off the road between Lisdoonvarna and the Cliffs of Moher and is a beautiful location..I don't see it marked on a Google map but there is a guesthouse by the name Trilldoon house, Cronagort which will is very close by but I cannot get a street view but would know how to get there myself (i keyed in directions from Lisdoonvarna to Trilldoon House) there are 3 houses down the cul de sac and Laffertys is one of them though not the one at the end..as I say I will be making further enquiries..btw O'Donnell is a very common name in the Moymore/Liscannor area it's possible that such a marriage took place..there is a very old cemetery Killilagh Church Cemetery where I imagine the original Laffertys are buried. Hope this is a bit helpful..

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the link , do you think that if I just wrote to that address it would get there ok. That info is so helpful.
It would be so kind of you to take the pic I will try & google it too. John O'Donnell & Eliza Driscoll were the parents of Patrick & I've also been trying to find their resting place, I wonder if it may be in thaat Killiligh cemetery. Am excited to hear more of what you can find out.
Thanks once again, your a gem.

Mary,
There is one before the B & B 2 after but if it's not the last one then it must be the one immediately after I'd say.
I can get a great view of the road the 4 houses are in , beautiful countryside I must say

Hi Rae..it is the house before the last one..I will be hopefully be able to get a photo of the house over the next few days..I think you should write to Gerry Lafferty in London as he is a direct descendant of the original family..you have to realise that Cronagort is a tiny place..really only that cul de sac I describe..it's between Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher..Killilagh cemetery is down in Doolin itself..up a road opposite McDermotts pub..hopefully you will be able to connect with the Laffertys and that they will indeed be the people you seek..
