Does anyone have information on George and Jane Hynes whose 1911 census entry shows them as living in/at Cronagort, West Killilagh, County Clare?

From newspaper articles in 1927 it does appear that George, Jane and two other family members were charged with infanticide. A court case, held in Dublin, followed and all were found not guilty.

I believe Jane died in 1931, her death being registered in Roadford,Ennistymon by her husband.

From our research it would appear that Jane was a sibling of my huband's great grandfather James Robert Graydon. Jane was born in Limerick in 1862 to a Henry Graydon and Margaret Quill and married George Hynes in 1892 at Limerick Cathedral.

Thank you.

  • Carolyn. Thank you for your reply.

We know when Jane and George died from irishgenealogy but would like to know anything about their children who we have as Thomas, John. Margaret and George. Thomas appears to have married a widow  Annie in 1932.

  • Hi Garth and Trish,

I noticed some interesting information on a George Hynes (County Clare) Hyness, amoung other variations of spelling in Petty Sessions Court register 1818 to 1919 from The National Archives of Ireland; Dublin, Ireland; CSPS 1/4401-4492. I accessed them on Ancestry. The entries date from 1865 to 1916 so there may be two generations of George Hynes represented. The entries can be hard to read and perhaps not what you were looking for but worth a look all the same.
