We will be in Ireland on 8 Sept 13. I am looking for the family of James and Michael Donnelly. James married Bridget Fallihee of Coolybrown, Kilscannell, Limerick. These brothers left for the USA in 1830-37. Their father may have been named Michael Donnelly. Are there any Donnellys living in the Killofin area today ?

Hi Thomas,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you before your visit and shares some information with you.
It may be an idea to try and arrange a meeting with the local parish priest in Killofin, he may be able to advise on whether or not there are any Donnelly?s still in the area. Here are the contact details:

Also, I suggest that if you are in Clare that you contact the Local Studies Department of Clare County Library as they have an excellent county collection available. Here is their webpage:

You can check their online resources here:

You could also contact the Clare Heritage Centre for some assistance, however a fee may apply. Here are their contact details:

I hope that you have a wonderful holiday!
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
