Hi im trying to find information about my GGG Grandparents.
I believe their names were Denis Hallinan and Mary O'Dea and were from Clare.I found an entry in the 1911 Census which shows a Mary Hallinan as Head of House and a Patrick O'Dea recorded as a Son living in House7 in Fox and Geese Killuren. The Age listed for Mary seems about right (1836).
Denis and Mary had a son named Michael who with his wife Mary Fitzpatrick emmigrated to Maryborough, Queensland, Australia in 1874 on the ship Glamorganshire when they were approx 30 years of age with their 3 children Peter(12),Mary(10)and Michael (6).
Im hoping that the Mary Hallinan in the census is indeed my GGG Grandmother and Patrick is either a Son who took his mothers maiden name or a relative living with her ??
Can someone help please its driving me insane trying to put it all together :)
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Cheers Michael

Michael:
I'm wondering if your Mary was older than an 1836 year of birth since the son Michael who went to Australia was born around 1844. Also I think the Patrick O'Dea at 36 in 1911 was probably too young to be the son of your Mary Hallinan.
Since you posted the message in the Killuran parish page, I took a look at the 1856 Griffiths Valuation for that parish. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/clare/killuran.htm
There was only one Hallinan a Mary in Cappalea townland. One possibility is that Denis had died and Mary as the widow took over the lease or this is a completely different Mary Hallinan.
Sorry, I was not able to confirm the connection.
Let me know if you have further questions.
