Hi I am trying to find any information about my great great grandmother Ann Mungovan and her parents relations etc. what I do know. Ann's parents were Patrick Mungovan and Bridget Kearney/carney. I believe Ann was born in or came from the town of Knock in the parish of Drumcliff She was baptised 2nd October 1836 of Magowna ? in Kilmaley sponsors Jeremiah Connors $ MissMagowna . siblings Mary baptised 1st March 1835 of Knock sponsors Michael Mungovan & Mary Mungovan , John baptised 28th May 1842 of Knock Sponsors James Mungovan and Ellen Moran. honorary baptised 29th March 1844 of Knock. Sponsor Bridget Mungovan. Michael baptised. 3rd December 1848. There was also Elizabeth born 1838. And Susan 1842 Ann migrated to Australia whilst her sister Elizabeth migrated to New Zealand. Any information on her parents siblings or where they lived or the reference to Magowna be greatly appreciated

There?s a townland of Magowna (357 acres in size) a few miles west of Ennis. It?s on the R474 which runs from Ennis to Miltown Malbay. Griffiths Valuation for 1855 lists several Mungovan households farming there. You can see where they were using the map facility on the Griffiths website.
