Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.

You should definitely visit the Local Studies Centre in Ennis when you arrive to Clare as they have a very good list of local historical resources and the two librarians there are extremely helpful.

The Kilmihil communty page has also listed all the parish registers online at their community website which is below:

As to trying to find the farmhouse, it is probably best to go to the local parish office and/or post office and enqiure from there.

My grandparents imigrated to New York. I do see other Donnellans that imigrated to Australia on Ancestory. Small world isn't it.

When you are in Clare see if you can access the text "Parish of Kilmihil" by Cotter & Ors - 2nd Edition 1987. If it's no longer available commercially, Clare Library will have it.

The Old Kilmihil Cemetery in the grounds of the medieval church has many gravestones still legible - well worth a visit

Just put online this month on Clary Library website are transcriptions of Baptisms and Mariages for Kilmihil Parish. Makes it much easier than trying to decipher the originals on National Library's website
